Italy - Dairy farmers conference

Again this year, hundreds of dairy farmers are expected from all over Europe. Entirely financed by the farmers themselves and by the sponsors, the congress is an important meeting place where producers, researchers and processors can meet up to address perspectives for the European dairy sector.The EDF congress 2010 will be held on 23rd to 25th July in Saluzzo, Italy. The theme is dairy faming in Mediterranean Conditions

The main speakers will include:
Representing the farmers: the Italien EDF members Claudia Morisiasco and Giorgia Dellai. Some eight farmers will be involved during the farm visits.
Researchers from the Italien CRPA and CLAL, PZ from the Netherlands and Von Thunen Institute (VTI) from Germany.
Representing the processors: the Consortium of Formaggio Gorgonzola, Co=operative 3A Arborea and Richard Doyle, President of the International Dairy Federation (IDF-FIL). The Congress is a mix of insights into production costs, milk prices and other key aspects of the dairy production and farm visits in farms operating in Piemonte Region.
